Frequently asked questions

How do I get better shower pressure? And is changing over hot water from low to mains pressure expensive?

Usually poor shower pressure is a result of incorrect tapware selection when renovating or replacing old tapware, or a low-pressure hot water system. This can be particularly noticeable in the winter months. If the pressure system is the issue, as certified plumbers and gasfitters we can change your system over from low to mains pressure with multiple options for you to consider (Gas or electric). This is a relatively simple and cost-effective process- starting from $2600+gst.

Our shower is cold by the time the third person uses it in the morning. What can I do to stop this?

Changing from electric (hot water cylinder) to a gas infinity system is the most effective way to achieve this. Our gasfitters can offer you a non-obligation assessment and quote. Again, this can be a cost effective option to give you all the hot water you need and more! Starting from $2600+gst.

What is the best form of home heating?

This depends what you are after and many factors are considered. For example, the layout of your house, when you would use the heating system, the space required to heat. Our plumbers and gasfitters can install various heating solutions from gas central heating units, gas fireplaces, and our favourite - wood fires!

I am doing a bathroom reno- where do I start?

It is a good idea to get your plumber to come talk to your about the plumbing options and workability of your plans. We have loads of experience which can often prevent you from making simple but costly mistakes. Give a plumber at ‘mark above’ plumbing a call, to come provide a non-obligation on-site visit and offer advice.

How often should my gas appliances need servicing?

Gas appliances can run perfectly for many years, but for safety and peace of mind we would advise you have these serviced every 12-18months. This is not an expensive process but it can increase the longevity of your appliances and make for safer homes.

What is your after hours call out fee?

Our call out fee is $120+GST, on top of a standard hourly charge. Different charges may apply for public holidays.
